Learn about our services
-
Includes up to 3 pad replacements if needed. Even brand-new instruments may require adjustments fresh from the factory. A complete overhaul, if necessary, will be evaluated and quoted separately.
Tune-up services include:
Key action adjustments
Correction of sticking keys
Leak detection and sealing
Timing and regulation
Lubrication
Inspection of corks and felts
Minor issues such as bent keys or axles are included under the same service fee.
Vintage Instruments
Repairs on vintage instruments can be more complex due to limited availability of replacement parts. While most newer name-brand instruments can be serviced with factory parts, older models may require specialized repair through an outside shop.In cases involving body damage or misalignment, the repair cost may exceed the instrument’s value. Evaluations will be provided before proceeding with any extensive work.
-
Includes string replacement. If the customer provides their own strings, I’ll be happy to use them—especially if they have preferred gauges. If not, I’ll select strings based on the instrument type and the player’s intended use (e.g., jazz and rock call for different setups).
The setup also includes:
Cleaning and leveling frets
Adjusting the truss rod, if needed
Setting pickup height
Adjusting string action and nut height as necessary
Inspecting and cleaning wiring and pots
For entry-level guitars or basses (such as Fender Squier models), I often recommend upgrading the tuning keys if they stick or bind. Smoother tuners make tuning much easier—especially for beginners.

Amplifiers and keyboards typically need to be disassembled in order to properly diagnose the issue. A basic diagnostic is performed to determine the scope of the repair, and the initial troubleshooting work is applied toward the final repair cost if service proceeds.
For tube amplifiers, re-tubing costs vary depending on the type and brand of tubes required. Premium-grade tubes may incur higher costs. Estimates are provided after evaluation.
