Policies & Requirements

Recital Fees
Private lesson students: $60
Group class participants: $30

Please register early — a 50% late fee applies if registration is submitted within two weeks (14 days) of the recital.

Dress & Attire
Students should wear neat, performance-appropriate clothing such as a dress, nice shirt with pants, or other semi-formal outfit with closed-toe shoes. Music Around and SoCal Jazz Academy T-shirts are always welcome!

Teacher Authorization

All recital participants must be pre-approved by their primary teacher. Authorization is based on the following criteria:

1. Artistic readiness – the student’s current technical and musical level aligns with the performance material.

2. Preparedness – the student demonstrates sufficient practice and understanding of the piece.

3. Performance continuity – the student can perform the piece confidently from start to finish.

4. Stage composure – the student is able to maintain focus and poise during performance.

Students who are not authorized by their teacher will not be eligible to perform in the recital.

Program Placement
Students are placed in recital programs by the Director based on age, level, and program flow. We’re unable to adjust performance times to fit personal schedules — thank you for understanding!

Payment
Recital fees are non-refundable and will be charged to the payment method on file.

Accompanist
An accompanist will be provided at no extra charge when needed and available.

Group Classes
If not all class members can participate, the group may be restructured with volunteers or teachers to keep the performance balanced.

Photo & Video Release
Our recitals are public events that may be photographed and recorded.
By registering, you grant permission for images and videos to be used for school promotions. If you prefer not to have your child photographed, please do not submit the registration form.
