When you think of Jazz, the tuba doesn’t usually come to mind. However, for the last 40+ years, it’s been on John Noreyko’s mind. Over the years, John has honed his skills, not only as a jazz artist, but also as a studio musician. Mr. Noreyko has performed and/or recorded with Sigur Ros, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Fiona Apple and Dwight Yoakum, to name a few. For over 39 years, he performed in the house jazz band at Disneyland. He was also a member of the Side Street Strutters Jazz Band, performing concerts and symphony Pops engagements throughout the world. In 2012, he was a jazz adjudicator for the International Jazz Tuba Euphonium Association’s Roger Bobo Award.

“My career has been centered on advancing the tuba in all forms of music, especially jazz,” states Noreyko. His latest project, TUBOP, a neo-bop ensemble, pushes the limits of what is possible. He currently co-hosts the “Conical Supremacy” podcast, which includes live performances and interviews with musicians around the globe.

Noreyko is available for coaching and lessons for all low brass instruments, music theory and Jazz.
